"Doctor Noir" Cut-Away card for Rick St Dennis EDT

Hello Everyone!
It's time to share some more Rick St Dennis Elite Design Team inspiration today!
This time I made a cut-away card featuring Rick's spooky Doctor Noir the Plague Doctor!

I'm really having fun creating cards with one side completely cut away to reveal the coordinating paper used on the inside of the card.  I coloured Doctor Noir with a combination of Copics and Prismacolor pencils and the background on the left of the card is done with brown Derwent pastels blended with a Dove blender pen and I added metallic gold details with a gold gel pen.  I used a greenish-blue fabric textured patterned paper on the inside from the Heirloom Stack by DCWV.  I'm really pleased with how he turned out!

This is my last project as the member of the Rick St Dennis EDT for now coz my 6 mth term is up and I'm stepping down so that I can free up some spare time to work on customizing dolls!
Thanks for stopping by to see my project today!

Happy Stamping!

Zentangle Creature Cards - Lost Coast Designs News Stamp Showcase Day 3!

Howzit Everyone!
We're showcasing all the latest additions to the Lost Coast Designs stamp catalogue over at Lost Coast Portal to Creativity this week!

For Day 3 of the Showcase we featured our new ZENTANGLE CREATURES and I made two square cards and again went with the traditional Zentangle style of black and white with shading done with a graphite pencil.

For this one I used Zentangle Square One with Zentangle Checker Fish because all the circles reminded me of bubbles in water.

For this one I used Zentangle Square Two with Zentangle Cat because the swirled pattern reminded me of a ball of wool (yarn) and I added in some squiggly lines too.

Thanks for stopping by to see my projects today!
Happy Stamping!

Zentangle Octagonal Cards - Lost Coast Designs News Stamp Showcase Day 2!

Howzit Everyone!
We're showcasing all the latest additions to the Lost Coast Designs stamp catalogue over at Lost Coast Portal to Creativity this week!

For Day 2 of the Showcase we featured our new ZENTANGLE FEATHERS and PATTERNS

I made these two striking octagonal shaped cards to feature the bold style of our new Zentangle stamps.   These cards are suitable for anyone and can work for any occasion but they make great masculine cards don't you think.
I used Zentangle Feather 1 and 2 on this one and also used one of the feathers to create the border framing the feathers.

Zentangle Square 1 is such a striking design it can also be used on its own for a nice bold look.

Thanks for stopping by to see my projects today!

Whimsical Bird Gift Card Holder - Lost Coast Designs New Stamps Showcase Day 1

Howzit Everyone!
We're showcasing all the latest additions to the Lost Coast Designs stamp catalogue over at Lost Coast Portal to Creativity this week!

Yesterday we featured our new adorable birdies, WHIMSICAL BIRDS by Doris Arndt

I was thinking along the lines of when you need ideas for a group gift so I made a masculine themed gift card holder that makes giving a gift card from the mom, wife and kids to that special man so much more fun!

I used Lost Coast Designs large Whimsical Frankie bird for my focal image and to mirror the spots on Frankie I used Carmen's Veranda White Dominoes on the background mat.  The text is from Lost Coast Designs large collection of Misc Words.

The colouring on the Bird die cut panel is a combo of Copics and Derwent pastel pencils.  I mirrored the shape of the Spellbinders die cut on the gift card cover and on the pocket inside.

"Genie" a card for The East Wind DT

Howzit Everyone!
It's time for the 2nd Challenge for July over at The East Wind blog and Challenge #59 is a "Photo Inspiration" one!

I made a cut-a-way card featuring Genie

The inspiration photo is this beach scene and we challenge you to create with whatever inspires you the most whether you go literal and do a beach scene or go with certain colours or a just a feeling.....its very open to interpretation!  I decided to go with colour and pulled in the blue of the sky, teal of the ocean, sandy brow, the hint of pink and coral and the black from the shadows plus when I saw this digi stamp I immediately connected beach sand to sand dunes to Aladdin and the lamp to Genie and knew I had to use her!

I started out in Photoshop CS6 and sized her so she's a bit larger than half a sheet of cardstock and then printed her onto Neenah solar white cardstock.  She's coloured with a combination of Copics and Prismacolor pencils.  The background was done with Copics and Alcohol Solution and enhanced with Prismacolor pencil.  I fussy cut out the up portion and then adhered the coloured panel to a sheet of white cardstock folded in half.  I love how she turned out, she's so hauntingly beautiful.

Come and join the fun at The East Wind...we have 2 blog challenges every month and fun challenges on on our Facebook TEW Group too!

PRIDE: "Who is the Fairest?" for Rick St Dennis EDT!

Hello Everyone!
It's time to share some more Rick St Dennis Elite Design Team inspiration today!
Rick has created a fabulous set based on the 7 Deadly Sins and this glamorous lady is PRIDE from the Dungeon set and the rest are part of Dungeon 1.

I printed her out onto white cardstock and coloured with Prismacolor pencils with shading, shadows and highlights built up in layers of applied colour.  I added luscious metallic gold touches to her jewels and all the mirror frames with a gold gel pen!   I chose not to colour her reflection in the mirror and went with a brown Derwent Pastel pencil background blended with a Dove blender pen instead.

Happy Stamping!

CHRISTMAS in JULY - Gift Tags and Gift Wrap!

Howzit Everyone!
We're busy celebrating CHRISTMAS in JULY over at Lost Coast Portal to Creativity
Today is Day 5 and it's my turn to share some Christmas inspiration featuring stamps by Lost Coast Designs!

I love upcycling and these tags started out as clothing tags off some of my hubby's shirts and they came with the red cord...perfect!  The tags are made of nice thick cardstock and I just started out by covering the brand logo etc with white gesso and adhered white cardstock to both sides with a glue stick.  Then the Christmas magic began and I randomly stamped various snowflakes in different designs and size, Large Snowflake set and Small Snowflake set, in Tumbled Glass Distress Ink.  On the bottom left one I decided to combine Tumbled Glass and Peacock Feathers Distress Ink together for a fun variegated look.  I inked up the edges with Peacock Feathers DI to both frame and give the tags a distressed look.  I then decorated them with the To and From and the presents from the Christmas Tag set in VersaMagic Red Magic ink and also used the flourishy parts of the presents to embellish the tag corners too.

Of course I wasn't going to stop there and also stamped up my own matching gift wrap ;0)
So much fun!

Thanks for stopping by to see my project and I hope you will join us over at Lost Coast Portal to Creativity and Stay to Play!

"Green Fire" Wrath for Rick St Dennis EDT!

Happy 4th of July!

It's time to share some more Rick St Dennis Elite Design Team inspiration today!
Rick has created a fabulous set based on the 7 Deadly Sins and this gloriously wicked creature is WRATH from the Dungeon set and the rest are part of Dungeon 1.

I printed her out onto Neenah solar white cardstock and then had an absolute blast colouring her with Copics! I built up the image with lots of layered and feathered colours with shadows and depth added in grays with a touch of shading done with a black Prismacolor pencil too.  The background was also built in layers of red and grays and I used alcohol solution to create a subtle mottled effect as well which feathered out the colours beyond the image lines.  I also used it on her hair too.  I love how she looks, I think this is what green fire looks like.  I finished off by re-drawing a more loose border around the background with a black Micron pen.

Happy Stamping!

"Marina" 3D Paper Art for Delicious Doodles DT!

Howzit Everyone!
I'm super excited to announce I'm now designing for Delicious Doodles!  I've been a fan of Teri's digis for many years now and recently I've been doing a lot of 3D paper art with them!  This 3D project features Marina and was created for our new Challenge, Beside the Sea!

I started out by adjusting the size of digi in Photoshop CS6 and then printed out 2 copies onto Neenah solar white cardstock.  For this one I decided that her hair, arms and the two front fish would be the layered sections and coloured just those areas on the 1st copy and the rest of the image on the 2nd with with Copic markers and Prismacolor pencils.  The background was done with blue Derwent Pastel pencils blended with a Dove blender pen and then additional shadows added with Prismacolor pencils.  White gel pen highlights were then added once the entire piece was completed.  I then fussy cut out all the pieces and adhered them in place with pop dots.

I used clear Wink of Stella on her lips, eyelids, mermaid body and tail, coral and her pearl bracelet.  I then completed my piece with 3D shimmery water droplets and embellished her hair and jewels with a Viva Pearl pen in Magic Transparent White.

This one proved tricky to photograph, the lighting just wasn't working for me this week but I think I've managed to capture some photos showing all the shimmer and the dimension of the layering.  Click on each photo to enlarge them for a closer look.

Thanks for visiting with me today and have a fabulous holiday weekend!

"Daisy Punk" Cut-Away card for The East Wind DT

Howzit Everyone!
I'm extremely excited to now be designing for The East Wind design team!
Did you see my Cheshire Cat themed card I made for my sister's Birthday and for the new TEW blog challenge?  Check it out below this post!
Now here's my 2nd TEW DT project for today :0)

This gorgeous lil' punk girl is a new release today, she's called Teen Lucy 'Ukupunk'
F0716
.

Stop by The East Wind Etsy store to snap her up and check out the entire collection while you're there!

I enjoy getting in some Zentangle action whenever I can and images with large open areas are perfect for it.  I had a blast drawing "daisies" in her hair which is my adaptation of the Nzeppel Tangle and adding the design, Tangle 3-Loop-6, to her dress with a 03 black Micron pen.

I started out by elongating the image in Photoshop CS6 so I could make a fun very tall cut-away card and printed her out onto Neenah solar white cardstock.  I coloured the image with a combination of Copics and Prismacolor pencils and added the background shading on the left of the image in Umber Derwent Pastel pencil blended with a Dove blender pen.  I trimmed the panel and cut away the background on the right hand side of the image and adhered the panel to an asymmetrical card made from white cardstock and adhered a sheet of DCWV The Heirloom stack patterned music paper to the inside which is then visible when the card is closed or stands open!  She's such a cutie, I love how she turned out :0)

Join us over on our Facebook TEW Group and in Blogland, we have challenges going on in both locations!

"Cat's Meow" birthday card for my sister and The East Wind DT!

Howzit Everyone!
I'm extremely excited to announce that I'm now designing for The East Wind :0)
I adore Unky's digital stamps, especially her Lucy Loo line!  Here's my first project made for our new Challenge "Let 'er Rip - Torn edges/paper!  Plus, I'm also sharing a second TEW project today featuring the new release digi for this week too...see my next post!

You all know how much I love Alice in Wonderland and Cats and my sister loves kitties too so I made this card for her birthday....Happy Birthday Paula, love ya...mwah!

This gorgeous kitty girl is called Lucy Loo 'Cheshire Cat' MAC0121

https://www.etsy.com/listing/206077202/digital-stamp-lucy-loo-cheshire-cat?

Stop by The East Wind Etsy store to snap her up and check out the entire collection while you're there!

I started out in Photoshop CS6 and added the "Happy Birthday" text to the signs on the tree and made my own sentiment and printed out the image twice onto Neenah solar white cardstock.  I coloured the cat and the signs with Copics and a touch of Prismacolor pencils on the first copy and the rest of the design on the 2nd.  The background was created using Copics and alcohol blending solution.

I fussy cut out the pieces, curved them to create a puffy 3D effect and layered them with pop dots to further enhance the dimension.  For the "Torn Edges/Paper" part of the challenge I trimmed the main panel by tearing it instead of cutting and grunged it up a bit with a bit of Tea Dye Distress Ink.  I also tore the patterned decorative teal paper (DCWV The Heirloom stack) and the red cardstock mats as well.  I love how she turned out :0)
