Friends - The East Wind DT inspiration for today's new release!

Howzit Friends!
Today's new release over at The East Wind is this lovely Aurora digi called 'Take care of my cat'.
I just adore cats and enjoyed creating this piece immensely!

I printed the digi onto Neenah solar white cardstock twitce, first the full image and then just her left arm, a portion of the cat and her right hand.  I coloured her with the following Copics:  E0000, 00, 01, 02, 15, W0, Y15, 17, 38, YR04, B000, 00, 01 and 02 and added touches of white gel pen for highlights and metallic gold gel pen on her two buttons.  I fussy cut out her arm and kitty and then layered it onto the main image with pop dots just along the and the cat and adhered her sleeve in place with Scotch Quick Dry adhesive to create an angled 3D effect.  I used brown Derwent pastel blended with a Dove Blender pen on the background, rounded the corners with a Marvy corner rounder punch and applied Black Soot Distress Ink on the panel edges.  I then cut a mats from green cardstock and a decorative paw print paper and used the corner punch on just the DP.  I created a decorative dove tailed strip from a piece of the green cardstock cut off and added faux stitching details to all the panels with a white Dylusions paint pen.  I die cut out the word "Friends" using a Sizzix Easy Peasy alpha die strip and added Copic 'fur' for a touch of fun detail.  Everything was then adhered with tape to a white folded card made from a sheet of cardstock and the letters adhered in place with Scotch Quick Dry adhesive.

Venus X - The East Wind DT inspiration for our new release

Howzit Friends!
Today's new release over at The East Wind is this lovely Lucy Loo digi called "X".  The Lucy Loo line is my favourite coz of the dark and edgy vibe of this character so I couldn't resist using the Monster High character, Venus McFlytrap, as my inspiration for her.

I printed out the design onto Neenah solar white cardstock and coloured her with the following Copics:  YG00, 03, 06, G28, B01, 23, 24, 26, RV10, 13, 17 and Marvy Le Plume CG892, 894 and 895.  I also added touches of white Prismacolour pencil and white gel pen for highlights.
I then fussy cut her out entirely and layered her onto the floral decorative paper with pop dots just along the right hand side to create an angled 3D effect.  The left side is adhered with Crafter's Companion adhesive tape.  To further enhance the edgy vibe of the piece I tore up some black corrugated cardstock, drybrushed it with white acrylic paint and adhered it to the left side with tape.  I then mounted everything onto a white folded card I made from a sheet of cardstock.  To complete the piece I cut out one of the flowers and adhered it to her hair with a pop dot and applied clear Wink of Stella to the flower and the "X" on her t-shirt for a touch of sparkle.

My Muse for this piece, Mattel's Monster High doll

"Morgan Le Fay" Mardi Gras Planner Pages for Delicious Doodles DT!

Howzit Everyone!
It's time to come and play in our March Challenge over at Delicious Doodles Challenges!  Our theme this month is "Add Something Green" and as I'm still working on my 2017 DT Planner I've just used the colour green for now, I plan to use green cardstock to mount my pages plus some green cardstock pockets too.

Morgan Le Fay is my focal image for my March spread and I paired this beauty up with the March planner page from Delicious Doodles new "The Colourists Year Planner", a printable PDF colouring book available in the DD Etsy store.  I printed the two pages out onto white cardstock and coloured the designs with Prismacolor pencils.  March is also the month we celebrate Mardi Gras so I went with traditional purple, green and gold.  Her skin is done in shades of green, her eyes, clothes and the flourishes on the planner page are purple and I used metallic gold Prismacolor pencil on her finger nails plus the horse shoes, flower centers and dots on the March page.  I couldn't resist colouring her hair and lips red though and carried the red over into the flowers and shades of cream/burnt umber on the skulls mirror the golden hues.
