Santa Baby - The East Wind DT project!

Howzit Stamping Friends!
Today I'm sharing another TEW design team project showcasing Lucy Loo 'Naughty'!

I've been having fun with my Distress Oxides.  I painted the entire image and the background using the Distress Oxides as watercolours.  I love how rich and vibrant it turned out!
I sized the image in Photoshop CS6 and printed the digi out onto mixed media cardstock trimmed to 4 x 6 inches.  I smeared Fossilized Amber, Fired Brick, Wild Honey, Wilted Violet and Broken China directly onto my craft sheet and applied the colours to the image using water and a paint brush and treated the ink just like traditional watercolour paint.  I then added highlights with a white Dylusions paint pen and metallic gold gel pen details to her belt buckle and boot lacing.  I then embellished the fluffy white areas on her hat and bodice with Diamond Stickles glitter glue and applied Inkssentials Glossy accents to the light bulbs.  I typed up the text, printed out on white cardstock, trimmed and matted on black cardstock and adhered to my card with Scotch Quick Dry adhesive.  I finished off by adding the black and white checkered border with black and white Dylusions paint pens..

Do You Want to Build a Snowman? - The East Wind DT project!

Howzit Stamping Friends!
We're still celebrating Christmas in July over at The East Wind with some new lovely Christmas releases!  Today I'm sharing a design team inspiration project showcasing Aurora Nice who is just one of the 4 Christmas digis you can get in a special limited time bundle!
I decided to have some fun with my Distress Oxides and made some backgrounds with white mixed media cardstock.  I then printed the digi image onto one of my Distress Oxides backgrounds and coloured a few areas of the image with black and white Dylusions paint pens and embellished with Diamond Stickles glitter glue.  I also hand drew in snowflakes and dots on the background with the white Dylusions paint pen and added Stickles dots to the centers of the snowflakes.  I typed up the text, printed out on white cardstock, trimmed and matted on black cardstock and adhered to my card with Scotch Quick Dry adhesive.  I finished off by adding the black and white checkered border.

My Name is Alice - a Joggles DT Shrine Tutorial!

Howzit Stamping Friends!
It's no secret that I'm a HUGE fan of Alice in Wonderland and when Joggles asked me to feature their fun new laser-cut masonite Shrines for my July tutorial of course I could not resist creating a Shrine to Alice!

Joggles have an amazing selection of Shrines from basic rectangle boxes in various sizes with or without bases to ones with fancy shaped backs.  I decided to use the small Castle silhouette Shrine combined with another one of Joggles Wonderland collage sheets and stage my latest Wonderlandian adventure at the Queen of Hearts’ palace.

My tutorial is featured today over on the Joggles blog, I hope you'll pop on over to see how I made my Shrine!  Here's a look at the finished piece titled...

"My Name is Alice"
I think my little Alice, aka Sad Sally resin bjd, is quite taken with her Shrine!
I used the following supplies from Joggles!

Aurora Christmas Hanging Ornament - The East Wind DT

Howzit Stamping Friends and Happy Christmas in July!
Today I'm sharing my design team inspiration project showcasing The East Wind's July Newsletter freebie, Aurora Holly Sparkleberry She's a Christmas themed digi and will be available in the Etsy store soon!

I love making 3D Christmas hanging ornaments that can be used to decorate the Christmas tree or hang on the wall.

I love the elegant vintage glow of the ornament hanging on my wall.

This is what the ornament looks like in daylight.

She's coloured with Copics with white Dylusions paint pen highlights and the background shading is done with Walnut Stain Distress Crayon blended with water.  I also did the same Distress Crayon treatment on the standard circle mat that was die cut from pink cardstock to grunge it up.  Metallic gold accents were added to all the mats with a combination of gold Promarker, DecoColor liquid gold paint pen and Galaxy Gold Brilliance ink.

I used the following Spellbinders dies:
Standard Circles large
Classic Scalloped Circles small
Petite Scalloped Circles large
Lacey Circles

A closer look at the details.

The back of the ornament is decorated too.
The ornament Happy Holidays ornament stamp is by Recollections:  stamped in Lady Bug Memento Ink, clear Wink of Stella applied for some lovely shimmer, a touch of metallic gold Promarker on the hanger and then a coat of Judkikins Diamond Glaze was applied to the entire ornament as well as the holly berries on main design.  I also used clear Wink of Stella on the holly and her lips.
I embellished some of the mats with gold Promarker dots and Diamond Stickles glitter glue for lots of magical sparkle.
