Owl Fairy - 3D Hanging Art - Joggles DT project

Back in February I was thrilled to be invited to join the Joggles 2017 design team and we've been debuting our projects during May.  Today is my first project tutorial over on the Joggles blog.

Joggles sent me their amazing Fearless Faces Stencils System by Margaret Applin to feature and I created this wonderful Owl Fairy 3D hanging art piece.

Pixie Dust - The East Wind DT project

Today I'm sharing my design team inspiration project featuring The East Wind's newest digi, Aurora "Pixie Dust".  

 

This cutie immediately reminded me of Tinkerbell so I picked my colours from Disney's Peter Pan version of her.  I printed her out onto Neenah cardstock and started out by randomly scribbling 3 shades from the Violet Copic family onto the background and drizzled Ranger blending solution all over to create the soft subtle mottled backdrop for her.  I then coloured her entirely with Copics and couldn't resist giving her freckles, isn't she the cutest!  I also used a white Dylusians paint pen to add highlight and applied Diamond Stickles Glitter to the flower stamens, her wings and the flourish.  I punched decorative corners on just the two bottom corners with a Marvy paper punch and then layered the finished piece onto red cardstock and made a folded card from dark green cardstock.  I then outlined the piece with more Stickles and embellished with pink pearlescent flowers I've had in my stash forever and a bow made from glittery tule.

Tangled Vampire Cat - LeighSBDesigns New Release!

Happy Half-O-Ween to you all!

My LeighSBDesigns Art Stamps Etsy Boutique has been open for 3 weeks and I'm thrilled with the wonderful response to my designs so far and all the fabulous sales, THANK YOU so much for your support, you guys ROCK😀

 It's Half-O-Ween and I'm excited to bring you my Tangled Vampire Cat from the Autumn's Pencil rubber stamp set I designed a few years ago😃  He's now available at my Etsy Boutique for an introductory release price for the next 3 days so dash on over and grab him while he's on sale😋

  Tangled Vampire Cat is a whimsically dark stylized drawing of a cat tangled with Egyptian influenced designs.  This kitty is perfect for your Half-O-Ween and Halloween creations of course but can work for any occasion just by changing how you colour and present him!  I chose to go with vibrant colours for my wall art piece but he's still got a dark vibe going on.

I printed him out onto Neenah white cardstock and coloured him with Copics and used Prismacolor pencils to add some extra shading and shadows.  The background was done with black and brown Derwent Pastels blended with a Dove blender pen.

Here's a closer look at the kitty in the collage I did for all my badges/banners that includes lil Miss Oddleigh Flower.

 

Here's a past project I did featuring Tangled Vampire Cat and Tangled Raven on jigsaw puzzle pieces.  This was done with the rubber version of my designs created for Smeared Ink a few years ago.

Hiss Half-O-Ween - Delicious Doodles DT project!

Happy Half-O-Ween!

Today I'm sharing my inspiration project for our new challenge over at Delicious Doodles Challenges and May's theme is Embossing.  You can do all kinds of embossing techniques so come and join the fun!

I could not resist using this delightfully wicked kitty called The Witch's Cat. 
I had so much fun creating this 3D Half-O-Ween card, here's kitty looking PURRfect in purple!

HISS Half-O-Ween

I printed the cat out onto Neenah Solar White cardstock and trimmed the cardstock to fit inside the Cuttlebug Rebecca embossing folder so that the cat was centered inside the design.  I printed out 2 more cats and fussy cut out 2 layers consisting of the cats shoulders and head and then just the head.  I coloured all the cat elements with Copic markers and used black Derwent Pastel pencil on the background which was then blended with a Dove blender pen.

 

I embossed the panel and distressed the edges of the cardstock with Tim's paper distresser tool.  I then applied Shaded Lilac Distress Ink directly to the embossed design and the distressed edges and randomly and lightly applied Platinum Planet Brilliance ink for a touch of metallic shine.

 I matted the panel onto black cardstock, edged with a metallic silver Promarker, then onto purple cardstock and adhered everything to a black folded card made from a sheet of cardstock.  I made the sentiment panel from a piece of white cardstock lightly coloured with Shaded Lilac Distress Ink using a foam applicator, hand wrote Hiss Half-O-Ween with a Copic Fineliner and roughly edged it with a black Copic marker for a distressed look.  The sentiment was adhered to the card with Scotch Quick Dry glue with a thin strip of black cardstock, left over from making the folded card, sandwiched between...I just love using those very thin curly strips!

I then finished off by layered the cat elements to the card with pop dots.

Fantasy Feline Horus the Egyptian Cat Wall Art - LeighSBDesigns Art Stamps New Release!

  Today's new release is Horus the Egyptian Cat and 2nd in my Fantasy Felines series! 
He's a regal fantasy line art design of an Egyptian inspired cat adorned with a depiction of Horus surrounded by hieroglyphs.  He's the PURRfect companion for Cleo Egyptian Cat and a must for Egyptian and cat lovers😺

Here's my wall art featuring him.  I used Copics and Prismacolor pencils to colour everthing except the background which is done with Derwent Pastel pencils and a Dove Blender pen.

Horus is now up in my Etsy Boutique and waiting for you to adopt him.

Purple Love - The East Wind DT project!

We're having a May Challenge celebrating all the wonderful ladies in our lives over at The East Wind blog.  Whether it be Mother's Day cards or Just Because cards for your girl friends come and join the fun!

Here's my inspiration project, a study in shades of purple featuring The East Wind digi called "Aurora Love You".  I love creating monochromatic projects using purple, one of my annuals for girls had a featured cartoon that was always done in just purples, I loved it and has really stuck with me all these years.

I printed her out onto Neenah solar white cardstock and coloured her with Copics and the contents of the flower pot were coloured with gel pens in glitter, metallic and regular opaque.  For lots of hightlights, magical sparkle and dimension I used a white Dylusion paint pen, clear Wink of Stella on her lips and ribbons and Viva Le Pearl Magic Transparent White on her eye highlights and all the flower pot contents.  The background was done with black Derwent Pastel pencil blended with Dove blender pen.  I distressed the edges of the cardstock with Tim's paper distresser tool and adhered the panel to 2 mats cut from 2 different shades of purple cardstock.  I completed my card with self adhesive purple pearls adhered to all 4 corners.
