Bloody Valentine - a Delicious Doodles DT project

Howzit Creative Friends!
We're getting dark and twisty over at Delicious Doodles this month with our February challenge theme, Bloody Valentine❤️

My DT inspiration card features the voluptuous Rosie.  She's looking ever so wicked lying in a bed of roses American Pie style.  I used a Red Chameleon marker to colour all the roses and then the rest of the design is done in various shades of gray and red Copic markers.

I distressed the panel edges with Tim's paper distresser tool, layered onto a black cardstock mat.  I made a white folded card made from heavy weight cardstock and coloured a narrow border around the front of the card with gray Copic marker to match the leaves and then added the black and red silk ribbon before adhering the panels to the card with permanent adhesive tape.  I added the bow with a glue dot and then dribbled black 3D Inkssentials Glossy Accents along the top edge to give the effect of dripping blood.

If dark, twisty and gothic romance is your thing then come and join me on my LeighSBDesigns Inspiration Blog February 12-16 for my first My Dark Valentine Blog Hop.  All the hop info is up on the event page HERE!  No need to sign-up, you just show up when you want and play as much as you want and even old projects are welcome as long as they're re-shared in new posts and you mention the hop and include the Blog Hop Roll in your posts!  The format will be the same as my popular Poe Appreciation Day Blog Hop so check those out on the Poe Page to get a better idea of how the Feb hop will work!  It couldn't be easier to join and it's going to be so much fun so come and play with us and have a fabulous Valentine.  I will even have a brand new LeighSBDesigns release with a gothic theme out very soon too😋

Poe Appreciation Day Blog Hop Day 4: Raven Rising!

Howzit Stamping Friends!
We're busy celebrating Edgar Allan Poe's birthday in style over on my LeighSBDesigns Inspiration Blog with a 5 day Poe Appreciation Day Blog Hop!  It's now our 4th day and so far the sharing has been beyond POEtastic!  The blog hop roll is below, just click on all the thumbnail links to hop all the blogs playing!  PLUS, it's not too late to join the fun, click on the very 1st entry to go to my Day 1 post that explains what the Hop is all about and how you can play.  There's 2 prizes up for grabs so if you love Poe then don't delay and come join the party, the Hop ends on Jan 23 at 5 to midnight pacific time!

I'm re-sharing some of past favourites on this blog for the hop and up today is my piece from 2016 I called "Raven Rising" ....I named it so coz I saw the Raven as a Phoenix rising from the ashes of 2016 so I coloured him in grays and yellows.  Just like in 2016 The Raven now carries forth the words of Poe into the new year where he will live on eternal as we continue to enjoy his tales of mystery and macabre.  This wicked cool image is Delicious Doodles' Skully Poe Digi Colouring Page, coloured with Copics and touches of metallic gold Promarker on the book spines.

Poe Appreciation Blog Hop Day 3: Spirits of the Dead

Howzit Stamping Friends!
It's the 3rd day already of my 3rd annual Poe Appreciation Day Blog Hop which I'm hosting on my LeighSBDesigns Inspiration Blog.  The Blog Hop roll is below, just click on all the thumbnails to Hop all the blogs and enjoy the show.  Want to play?  It's not too late to join the hop, click on the very 1st entry to go to my Day 1 post that explains what the Hop is all about and how you can play.  There's 2 prizes up for grabs so if you love Poe then don't delay and come join the party, the Hop ends on Jan 23 at 5 to midnight pacific time!

I'm sharing some of my all time favorite past Poe projects on this blog for the Hop and up today is this card featuring 2 of IkesART Poe digis.
My project was inspired by Poe's poem, "Spirits of the Dead".

 "Be silent in that solitude,
   Which is not loneliness—for then
The spirits of the dead who stood
In life before thee are again
In death around thee—and their will
Shall overshadow thee: be still."
E.A. Poe "Spirits of the Dead"

My beautiful Gothess, Evangeline Ghastly, wanted to pose with her favourite poet ;0)
I combined the image of the women with the raven "Poe's Death Bed" with "Candle Poe"
in Photoshop CS6 and printed out the image onto Neenah Solar White cardstock.  To create the fancy fold card I scored where I wanted the fold on either side of Poe's head and then fussy cut the portion that was above the scored line with an Xacto knife.  Once his head was free I folded the card in half.
I coloured the images with Copic markers and the background was done with Derwent Pastel pencils and blended with a Dove blender pen.

Visions of Sugar Plums - Hanging ATC Christmas Ornaments Joggles DT Tutorial!

Seasons Greetings Stamping Friends!
Wow, can you believe November is nearly over already, this year has just flown by in a blink of an eye!  The saying "time flies when you're having fun" truly applies as this has been a fabulous creative year for me😊

Today I'm sharing my last Joggles design team project for 2017 with an in-depth tutorial over on the Joggles blog which you can check out here!  I created 3 double-sided ATC Christmas hanging ornaments to get you into the spirit of the season.  The concept for these was the phrase "visions of sugar plums dancing in their heads" and I love how they turned out!

I love making Christmas ornaments, they make lovely hand made gifts and are also a fun alternative to giving out Christmas cards too!  I’m sure your family and friends would be delighted to receive one of these festive ornaments this year😉

Each side is done in a different style, one side is whimsical and fun and the other is clean and elegant.

You can choose to make single sided ornaments and hang them on your Christmas tree or for cards you can add your Christmas sentiments on the back.  Double-sided ornaments are beautiful from all angles and perfect for hanging anywhere in your home.  You can even make both sides completely different like I’ve done with mine.  The whimsical sides feature a Joggles Itty Bitty ATC stencil, Joggles rubber stamps and Laurel Burch cats and the elegant sides feature gorgeous Giftsland Lokta hand made paper from the assorted Copper pack.

Here’s a closer look at the whimsical kitty side of each ornament.

Check out my little video of the ornaments in action!  They’re so pretty and exactly what I envisioned dancing sugar plums would look like!
(please note the video contains flashing lights)

I used the following materials and supplies which you can get from Joggles.  Joggles offers 15% off retail every day as well as weekly sales and specials!  These are my affiliate links, thanks for supporting me while snagging yourself some amazing deals at the same time😉

Haunted Wonky Cat Houses - a Joggles DT project tutorial!

Howzit Stamping Friends!
It's my turn again to bring you some Joggles design team inspiration with an in-depth tutorial over on the Joggles blog today!  With Halloween fast approaching its time to get into the spirit with my haunted collection of wonky wooden cat houses😸👻

Today's tutorial features 3 of Joggles Wonky Wood Houses decorated with faBOOlous Lokta paper from the Copper collection, handmade Distress Oxides stenciled paper and an assortment of rubber stamps.  But the star of the show are the Laurel Burch kitties that Joggles now carries!  I've loved Laurel Burch cats FURRever!

The faBOOlous Lokta paper was used everywhere except the front facades which was covered with my Distress Oxides and gears stenciled paper.

The windows and doors were all die cut out and a multitude of Laurel Burch kitties in shades of Halloween are peering out scaring the zombie, spider and pumpkins half to death!

Here they are looking PURRfectly spooktacular in my Halloween display!

Hope you enjoyed seeing my Haunted Wonky Cat Houses and are now heading over to Joggles to see how I made them😸
