Ice Roses And Holly - A Winter Card for the Holidays designed for the 3CCC

Happy Holidays Everyone!

I hope Santa was good to everyone this year and you got lots of crafty goodness in your stockings ;0)
I'm on vacation at the moment and you are all probably super busy with your holiday festivities so I'm popping in today to share a quick project with you ;0)

The "Ice Roses and Holly" winter card I designed for the Third Coast Creative Coterie is really beautiful but it doesn't take ages to make so drop what you're doing and grab your supplies and get in a little stamping Me time!

Stamp the image in Memento Tuxedo Black onto a sheet of Neenah Solar White cardstock.
I wanted a wintery feeling for my card so I went with a blue monochromatic colour scheme.  The image is coloured in various shades of blue Copics.  I used B000 and B01 on the main flowers, B04 and B05 on the leaves and B06 and B37 on the holly and everything is blended with the lighter Copic of each colour combo as well as the colourless Copic Blender pen.

Die cut the image out with a Spellbinders Mega Rectangle Deckle die and colour the background with a Prussian Blue Derwent Watercolour pencil.  Concentrate the colour around the image and emphasize the deckle edge.  Blend the Watercolour pencil with a Dove Blender pen.  Add small dabs of glitter glue in the centers of the flowers and edge the panel with a broad point metallic silver paint pen.  Cut a mat for the flower panel from a sheet of blue cardstock and adhere the panel to it with double-sided tape.

Make a folded card from a sheet of white cardstock and emboss the front panel with a Cuttlebug Snowflake embossing folder from the Winter Wonderland set.  Cut a length of wire edged ribbon long enough to completely wrap around the front of the card and all the way round to the inside so that the inside of the card is decorated too.  Adhere the snowflake ribbon down the left hand side of the card with double-sided tape - you can camouflage the tape in the area where the flower panel overlaps and under the snowflake circles of the ribbon.  Fold the edge of the ribbon over the sides of the card and tape to the interior too.   Adhere the flower panel to the front of the card with pop dots.  Inset the pop dots along the left hand side of the panel to allow for the difference in height where the panel overlaps the ribbon and you're done!

I think this card would make an awesome Happy New Year card for your friends and family!
You could add a little die cut label to the front with 2012 on it and Happy New Year inside or you could use it for any other occasion that occurs during the winter months too!

Have an awesome and safe New Year and I will see you again in 2012 :0)

Happy Stamping!
