"The Curse of the Glitter Fairies" Mini Book for Smudgy Antics Glitter & Gore Challenge

Hello Friends!
We're now entering week 2 of Smudgy Antics Glitter and Gore Challenge!
We challenge you to bring on the gore but you must bling it up with glitter!  Are you up to the challenge?  As always the Smeared Ink design team has your back if you're in need of some inspiration and here's my mini book to give you some ideas on how to combine glitter and gore into one fabulous project ;0)

"The Curse of the Glitter Fairies"
My title is in French on the book cover

All the images are by Smeared Ink:
French Fairies digital stamps,
Angel - As Death and the Winged Heart - Heart Wings set

I printed out the French Fairies onto a transparency sheet and coloured the fairies and parts of the image with various glitter glues.  Then attached them to white cardstock while the glitter glue was still wet.  I put two of the images back to back to form the cover and the first page and attached them together with Quick Dry Adhesive and polka dot washi tape around all the edges.  The 2nd page and the back of the book were attached just around the edges on 3 sides only, leaving the right edge open to form a pocket for the tab pull out.  The back cover is made from red cardstock embossed with eBosser Regency embossing folder and Black Soot Distress Ink was applied to the embossed design.

Now for the gorey part of my mini book...I made the pull out tab from red cardstock and covered it with bloody splatters with Fired Brick and Black Soot Distress Stains.  The Angel of Death image was stamped on the front with Jet Black Archival ink and details added with a silver glitter gel pen.  The Winged Heart was stamped on the back and coloured with Picket Fence Distress Marker and the silver glitter pen.  The edges were tattered with Tim's Paper Distresser tool and then Black Soot Distress Ink was added.  My story was written with a white gel pen and it says:

"Glitter Fairies are a forlorn race of gentle fae folk that live in the light.  But they live in terror of when the night descends.  They fear the blackest of nights when the moon doesn't cast it's protective light upon the land.  That is when the curse descends upon them and they become terrifying creatures of the night.  They are forever doomed until they find the Sacred Winged Heart of the Light!"

I used a Spellbinders die to cut out the decorative spine and tab from black cardstock.  I applied black glitter with gold flecks in it to both sides of each piece before adhering them in place with Quick Dry Adhesive.  I also added glitter glue dots to the back cover too.

I cut up to sections from the decorative strip to add to the title tab I made from left over red cardstock treated with the blood splats.  The title was attached to the cover with a bit of double sided tape and two tiny vintage gold brads which was done before the cover and page were adhered together.

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope you enjoyed reading my scary fairy tale story and that I've inspired you to take the challenge :0)
