Howzit Friends!
Christmas is coming YAY! Christmas is my all time favourite holiday, with Halloween close behind, and I have so many treasured memories of my family singing Christmas carols while we decorated our home and our treasured Christmas Tree with treasured decorations. So my project created for our new Challenge over at The East Wind - #66 Give Thanks for the Memories has extra meaning for me personally and our theme this month is to give thanks for our precious memories for Alzheimers Awareness month!
As always, the first challenge of the month features The East Wind newsletter freebie and this month's is this lovely digi called Trimming the Tree! I used the image twice, with one flipped, so I could create the scene of my precious sister and I decorating our Christmas Tree. The images are coloured with Copics with white Dylusions paint pen highlights, adhered to red cardstock for extra stability (and to decorate the reverse too) and fussy cut out. I then embossed a red cardstock with the snowflake design (Die'sire Embossalicious Christmas Elegance) and die cut out a center step card.
I applied white acrylic paint to the embossed design using a drybrush technique and added decorative Christmas trim to the center of the design and embellished it with a metal bow...looks like a large Christmas present doesn't it! I coloured the laser cut "Sisters" word with a metallic gold paint pen and adhered it to the card with Scotch Quick Dry adhesive and also adhered the images in palce with Quick Dry and pop dots. I hand wrote the sentiment with a black Sharpie marker and cut out the words. To complete my card I added Diamond Stickles glitter glue to the fluffy areas of the Santa Hats and touches of clear Wink of Stella to the Christmas ornaments and stars.
Come and join the fun at The East Wind...we have 2 blog challenges every month and fun challenges on on our TEW Facebook Group too!
